Change Your Routine to Get Newfound Dating Results

100 pull-ups followed by 200 pushups. That was the challenge I was facing...

Since my gym – filled with weights and workout machines – was closed, I was thrust to the outdoor park to get my workout in.

After finishing the 100 pull-ups part of my workout, my upper body was burning. My shirt was soaked with sweat.

"How the hell am I going to do 200 more pushups?"

I decided I'd take a quick walk around the park first, to give my aching upper body muscles a minute to relax.

With endorphins flowing inside me, a light breeze blowing around me, and the warm sun shining above me, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

And that was all before I saw her.

Suddenly walking directly towards me was a thin, yet curvy young woman with dark brown hair and tanned skin. The only thought in my brain?

"Oh shit. This looks promising."

So I did what I rarely do anymore – and got the attention of this woman – who was walking in the complete opposite direction I was.

"Hey, I gotta question for you."

Perplexed, she stopped, and waited.

"Who are you – and why are you trying to distract me on my walk?"

She giggled. I continued...

"Not fair, miss. I'm trying to get focused for the next part of my workout."

We talked for a minute – and made some nice conversation – while our eyes repeatedly locked.

And then, I explained how I could do pushups wherever – and therefore, we should walk together in the direction she was already heading.

She happily agreed.

So we walked. We talked. Bantered and flirted.

She asked how old I was. I told her I was 12.

Then, I guessed her age – said she looked like she was in her late 80's...

I told her she was the sexiest 87 year old woman I'd ever seen.

More laughter.

Next, she shared how she was new to the area.

And then, we discussed what we liked doing in our free time. Quickly, we discovered we both enjoyed working out and the outdoors.

Let's go for a hike, I suggested. I'll show you a cool spot with a killer view.

She agreed.

So we swapped numbers and made plans for the upcoming Sunday. Then, I shared that I needed to get to my workout.

See you soon, I said as I returned to my workout. She smiled.

Two months later, and Mariana is the main girl I'm dating. Which had me thinking how seemingly random events can lead to cool experiences.

And while this was random in my situation, the process of taking new actions, and changing your routine can be the opposite of random – you can make the deliberate choice to try new things.

Had my gym been open like it normally is on Friday's, Mariana and I wouldn't have ever met.

Luckily, we have the power to change the direction of our lives. And when we do, newfound results, happiness, and success often lie on the other side.

For you, maybe that means making macro changes – and finally taking the risks you know you should.

Or perhaps, it simply means switching up your routine and doing an outdoor workout.

Either way, the very act of taking new actions leads to a newfound sense of excitement and adventure.

And when you're on that new path, who knows, you might just attract your future sweetheart.
